Tips & Tricks
Look at the plant's name, e.g. "HYDRO" is going to be near a river or other body of water.
Google is your friend. Using it to find clues about a plant (fuel type, address, etc.) isn't cheating.
Look at the power output (MWh energy). The bigger the plant, the easier it'll be to find on the map. Plants producing less than 25,000 MWh can sometimes be tricky to find.
Large power plants (100,000 MWh+) can usually be found near rivers, lakes, oceans, or man-made ponds. That's because they use this water for cooling.
